Farewell to My cat.

Those who know Me well, will understand the passion I have for My cats. It is with great sadness since Tuesday 24th August that I had been preoccupied by the unexpected death and subsequent miraculous revival of My beautiful, highly intelligent, psychic, female cat. Unbeknown to Me then, from that moment she was never to be the same again.
Hoping she would make a near full recovery, if not a full recovery, her time in ICU had been promising in the early stages but flattened later. I was most thankful to have slaves distracting Me from My concerns and they helped Me to maintain a positive spirit.
By the end of the weekend, hope was still around and I even invited slave tate to stay for dinner on Sunday night after maid marian had finished her cleaning duties. I sent My collared slave to collect the pizzas for O/our dinner and My 24/7 slave felt inspired to open the beautiful bottle of bubbly I had in the fridge to celebrate O/our cat’s life.
I awoke on Monday with optimism only to receive a phone call in mid morning by the vet to say that My cat’s health had deteriorated and in his opinion, it was best to put her to sleep. It was highly unlikely that she would make any promising progress.
With heavy hearts I collected her from the hospital with My 24/7 slave and O/our vet and brought her back home for the very last time. O/our vet felt she would cope with spending her final hours with U/us and left her in O/our very capable hands until he returned later in the evening when W/we were ready to say goodbye. As slave tate had looked after My cats on a number of occasions (catsitting), I thought he would appreciate the opportunity to also say his farewell.
My cat’s passing was the most serene and peaceful experience I have ever encountered and My gorgeous girl’s transition could not have been any smoother.
The reality of My cat’s death hit Me hardest this morning when I realised that I would never feel her jumping onto the bed first thing as I awoke. It is quite incredible to think that one cat can have such a huge presence and energy and My house, despite having two boy cats, is markedly quiet without her.
RIP My beautiful one.
